Meet Sharyn

A photo of you smiling should be because you are genuinely happy from within ~Sharyn

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" A quote made famous long before photography was invented but I find it very applicable to what I do. I look for the beauty in all things. When you hire me to photograph for you, I get to share with you how I see the world. When you trust me with your pictures, we can both see that beauty together. - Sharyn

Sharyn Peavey is an artist, photojournalist, dancer, teacher, mentor, advocate, friend, mother, and sister who hails from Maine. She began her professional career in 1994 as a photographer in Baltimore, Maryland. She has since traveled the country to photograph couples, families, and businesses. Most recently, she has focused her time and travel in New England and New York, honing her craft and mentoring up-and-coming photographers to grow in their love and knowledge of photography. Most importantly, she believes in teaching the value of creating quality and memorable photo experiences on both sides of the camera lens.

Sharyn currently lives in the Freeport area with her 11-year-old daughter, Lucia, and their adopted Rottweiler, Pepper. When not helping others construct beautiful images of the world, she enjoys being a member of the Green Memorial AME Zion Church at Munjoy Hill in Portland, Maine and performing as part of a Salsa and Bachata dance team at the Alma Cubana Dance Company. And lest she have too much free time, her family provides endless entertainment and subject matter!

A home that has a doorstep like this has love waiting inside. It's that love that motivates me to photograph. - Sharyn
