Meagan and I dreamed up this wedding shoot because we both have a Maine family history with memories of old Maine farms. We made maple syrup in March and poured it on melting crunchy March ‘sugar’ snow. We both have memories of spending time in old kitchens of our Aunts and grandmothers, using dishes like those found in this shoot. I recall stories I heard as a child, collecting sap from work horses and wishing that could be us because I loved horses and wanted one more than anything. When Meagan found a Sap house that still used work horses I was so excited! This wedding shoot was set at a working sap farm, the owner opened up his farm and doors to us one sunny day in March.
Meagan being the design visionary that she is, pulled together a table runner made from a fabric that reminds me of overalls people wore, seat covers, anything but a table runner! The blue and white roughness of the fabric underneath the lushness of antique red roses is visually captivating. And beyond being a pretty anchor for a wedding table-scape, it also ties into a memory dear and close to our hearts, our Maine family history.
Incorporating the Bean flannel with the wedding gown, set off with a satin sash, is just the sort of thing that we would want you to do when planning your wedding.
