Lucia's Senior Photos in South Freeport

Lucia wanted senior photos in a field and we chose the field behind her old daycare in South Freeport, First Step, with Jackie and Sheila who are still there! The field had recently been mowed, but we found a section with what Lucia called "action", where there were still plants! It was 2pm, she did not want to be out around dinner time but at home doing homework (supposedly). The lighting is still great even without a sunset, flash or fill. We simply worked the light and worked to find the right backgrounds. What she wanted was happy Lucia photos. I was narrating ridiculous stories which she was laughing at but told me to stop. Once she saw the photos she agreed, my stories worked! :) Now to find daycare photos of Lucia in this field. She had the best serious pout faces back then and LOVED her TONKA truck. Yes things have changed, a little. ;)

Curly Hair Tip!

TIP: Rinse + Condition heavily before your shoot, but let your hair air dry. Lucia's favorite conditioners currently are Pattern and Suave. 

Lucia rinsed (not washed) her hair before the shoot and conditioned as she does before she leaves the house ever. She let it air dry. Her hair does not frizz because she does this. I complain because I am always buying conditioner and I hate plastic but she says mom, this is the curly hair life. What can I say. But at some point she was concerned that her hair was blobbed together from all the conditioner. I think it was fine.
