RIDERS, INSTRUCTORS & 4 LEGGED ATHLETES

Some people try to argue that a rider is not an athlete, that the horse does all the work, those must people who have little or no riding experience. It is a full body awareness and communication between both horse and rider and it is pretty cool to watch.

I say this jokingly of Lucia and Dustin with Dog Day Farm in Pownal by helping Kate Day be ready for her second lesson. Kate is preparing Forti for another year of Prelim Cross Country Eventing. Forti loves to have his head snuggled and take naps. After a brief snooze in Lucia's arms he had to turn on the energy and that he did.

The instructor described him as one with a little nuclear power plant. After the lessons Kate was tired.
