Perched on the outer edge of Cape Cod, Chatham Bars Inn commands one of the most stunning views of sand and rocks and sea in Massachusetts. At any time of year, it provides an expansive backdrop of dune grass and waves for a beautiful New England wedding. It was the setting for Cameron and Dan's wedding and one of the sweetest love story moments in my career.
Cameron and Dan reside in Brooklyn (one of my favorite places) and met me via a face time call after they had previewed the recommended vendors from the awesome staff at Chatham Bars Inn (CBI). It was a fantastic connection from the very beginning!
I photographed their engagement shoot in Brooklyn the April before their wedding on a warm spring day. After that, it took only a few phone consultations to go over the wedding details for the day to unfold seamlessly.
So to tell the story of one of my favorite memories... It was early in the afternoon and Cameron was getting ready in her suite with her bridesmaids, mom and sister.
Dan had a gift sent over to Cameron. The moment she opened it, she burst into tears.
While only she knew the significance of the gift, the rest of the room stood there waiting to understand but feeling along with her.
He had framed a paper cut out heart she had made for him on a Valentine's Day years before when they were dating at Dartmouth College. Cameron shared with everyone how on their first Valentine's Day together she sneaked into his dorm room and had covered it with paper cut-out hearts. He had saved one of them and framed it for their wedding day. That is just the best. A heartfelt and sincere gift that had not gone unnoticed and had been quietly cherished for years.
The day could not have been more perfect after that moment!
Chatham Bars Inn is one of the most beautiful beach settings for weddings, both inside and outside!
