As fellow Volkswagen enthusiasts, we immediately had something to talk about. Griffin had spent countless hours working on his car, customizing it, and making it his own. It wasn't just transportation—it was a reflection of his hard work, personality, and pride.

We chose Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine—where my portrait studio is located—for his senior portrait session. With its open fields, beautiful evening light, historic brick buildings, and scenic landscapes, Pineland Farms gave us the perfect setting to feature both Griffin and the car he loved.

Griffin's dad couldn't resist joking about driving the lowered Volkswagen out into the field, teasing him the entire evening and keeping everyone laughing. Those moments made the session feel relaxed and fun instead of posed.

While I prepared their images back at my studio, Griffin's parents explored the Pineland Marketplace just a short walk away. When they returned for their ordering appointment, his mom chose to replace a family portrait I had created thirteen years earlier when Griffin was just a toddler.

Now, that place on their wall tells the next chapter of his story.
