Sophie & Aseem's Maine Wedding

Sophie and Aseem were married at the beautiful and rustic Newagen Seaside Inn in Southport Island Maine. Sophie grew up in Maine, not too far from The Newagen and this is what brought Aseem and his mid-western family and their mid west friends out to the coast this July. We began photographing at the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, capturing toasts, lobster dinner fun and the s'mores and campfire light. On the wedding day we managed to get all important photos taken outside, dodging a thunderstorm. On the coast it tends not to rain for too long on a summer day. Rarely is an entire day lost due to rain, so knock on wood, we had some great light outside! Post rain portraits are my favorite, with a dark sky behind, rich backgrounds and light reflecting all around. I managed to get some of those during cocktail hour of parents and the kids being escorted to the bowling alley with the babysitters!
