Something wonderful and crazy can happen amidst a lot of turmoil, unrest and unknown and that is, in order to maintain sanity we purposefully seek out that which truly matters and that which gives us hope. I am sure you get this more than ever. I have done many shoots this summer, which I am very grateful for. Grateful not only for the business but the opportunity to connect with people during the shoot and again while I edit the images and get lost in their joy all over again. I am an observant person by nature, which is probably why I chose the profession of photographing people. And here is what I have noticed this summer, shoots are even better than they ever have been and I’ve been photographing a long time now. I won’t tell you how long, but a good many years now. Shoots are better because I believe families are stronger. From my humble photographic perspective, families are getting along better and it’s as if we all know each other deeper. Granted we all probably want some more space, but the understanding of each other is very present. Especially parents to their children. There is less arguing and tears on a shoot. A shoot now feels less like a checklist to check off and I find parents are more in the moment than ever before. Kudos to all of you moms and dads!
I see more comfortableness, more familiarity, and more love! And who doesn’t love love? (I love love!) Please leave a comment below or share it with someone you love.
