Gedeon & Addis

What is the likelihood of having two proposals to shoot in the same weekend? How about two proposals, from Boston couples, both proposing at the Cliff House? Well, this was my weekend and I have learned to not question things and just roll with it! And besides, as I have said before I love photographing proposals! 

The plan with this sneaky proposal was, Gedeon told the love of his life, Addis, that the hotel had a package that included a photographer and they were going to have a mini maternity shoot. I had Gedeon come down and meet me beforehand to get a couple of pictures of his nervous face and the ring. Gedeon had a great idea of using rose petals to give her an excuse to turn around and throw them into the air while he got down on one knee to propose. Adis was sweet every minute of the shoot and so easy to photograph. Gedeon and Addis are both originally from Ethiopia and as fate would have it they met twice two years ago. The second time was at a wedding and it was soon after that their love story began. I asked them all about traditional Ethiopian weddings, and they shared the details. But their real interest is focusing on their new babies Baptism. Apparently, in their religion, baby girls get baptized 90 days after their birthday and it is a big deal. Rightfully so, babies are wonderful!
